Our Team

We provide a highly qualified trauma-informed psychotherapy service, offering a variety of evidence based psychological interventions in Somerset and online for those suffering with complex emotional difficulties.  We offer both weekly on-line and in person appointments, as well as offering intensive residential EMDR. Modalities include EMDR, open-ended long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, and a weekly on-line support group, all from a Compassion-focused Therapy approach. In person appointments and intensive EMDR take place in Somerset, whilst our on-line appointments support people these days from across the world.

We work with various conditions, such as:

  • C-PTSD and PTSD,

  • Dissociative disorders including DID,

  • Body Dysmorphic Disorder,

  • Anxiety and Depression,

  • Emotional overwhelm and Burnout,

  • Eating disorders,

  • Nightmares,

  • Intrusive memories and Avoidance,

  • Interpersonal and Relationship difficulties, along with other dysfunctional coping mechanisms.

We launched in 2012 as a response to the growing demand upon mental health services and the limited resources available for those who need help but for whom there is often no appropriate service to refer into.  We work alongside a variety of services, including Berkshire Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr Abrar Hussain at Circle Hospital, Reading for medication reviews, as well as other external agencies, such as Eremos Place, and Windsor Hill Refuge in order to offer a rapid response to need, providing support for people on a day to day basis on an open ended basis.

Feedback

Feedback from Intensive EMDR:

"My experience was of great value to me.  Thoughts and feelings around unprocessed trauma evolved into memories long forgotten.  I have felt lighter in spirit since and would recommend Beverley and Intensive EMDR to anyone."

"I feel like a different person.  I arrived crippled by shame, suffering with flashbacks and intrusive thoughts, but literally within a few hours EMDR exposed the roots of the trauma and brought about rapid healing.  Being able to continue EMDR and not have to stop after 60 minutes was so freeing.  I was able to deal with the trauma and other situations linked with it in record time.  I am incredibly grateful for Beverley’s flexibility with arranging the sessions at a time I could complete the intensives and her compassion and understanding of personal circumstances, yet she never judged me."

"I was privileged to try both online and face to face Intensive EMDR.  Both helped me accelerate therapy and recovery.  The intensives were so much more effective because I was able to keep going beyond 90 minutes and get more freedom faster.  I am a Christian and was able to bring Jesus into memories, which brought me so much peace. I feel much calmer since the retreat.  Beverley was incredible. She has such a compassionate trauma-informed approach.  I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to accelerate recovery."
